11/14 Islamic State militants have  killed up to 770 captured Iraqi soldiers after they captured a former US military base in Tikrit back in June, a new report by Human Rights Watch (HRW) has stated.
Three new mass execution sites have been discovered at the Camp Speicher air base near to the Iraqi city of Tikrit, bringing the total number of sites to five.
According to HRW, the massacres were carried out by militants of the Islamic State following the siege of the city, located about 190 kilometers north of Baghdad.
The report states that the hardline Islamist group killed anywhere between 560 and 800 men during the slaughter, most of them believed to be Iraqi security forces serving at the former US base.

Islamic State I

According to the head of German intelligence, Germany has a fast growing number of Islamic extremists

With regard to the information provided, in Germany are about 7000 people who are followers of Salafism.
By the end of the year, the number of extremists in Germany could reach well over this number. Quote;

“People who support these views consider themselves losers, they are dissatisfied with their lives. They think that if they will have a clear goal – that their lives will change dramatically. Unfortunately, they have chosen the wrong target.”

The Islamic State’s own assessment, found in an annual report called al-Naba, or “the news”, boasts of its destructive force.  A regurgitated version of the report, covering the period of November 2012 to November 2013, is offered by the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Originally in Arabic the 400 page long document was initially published by the I’tisaam Media Foundation. It is also the second known Islamic State release advertising their bloody rampage in Iraq.
The Islamic State claims to be responsible for 9,540 operations in Iraq, 1,083 assassinations and freeing hundreds of radicals from prisons in Iraq. Having a force of at least 15,000 fighters under its command, the IS also planted 4,000 improvised explosion devices and freed hundreds of radical prisoners. In comparison to the previous report, the figures in each category have almost doubled. The category of “Apostates repented” was also added, underlining the IS’s perceived religious conquest.

The US-NGO (ISW) notes that the operating areas listed in 2012 and 2013 report are consistent, suggesting that “from its resurgence through to 2014, the Islamic State has possessed a reporting structure for subordinate units in the full range of operating areas.”
The Institute for the Study of War summary also claims that “From the period of April 2013 through to the present, the IS has been operating in Syria as well, though the distinctions between their military operations in Iraq and Syria is the subject of ongoing study at ISW.”

Note:   In its conclusion, the institute believes the organization is making several nation-wide changes to its tactics. “This is a strong indication of a unified, coherent leadership structure that commands from the top down.”
The report has been described as “almost like a company with details of martyrdom operations and targets,” by Nigel Inkster, former assistant chief of MI6, in an interview to the Financial Times. “You have a clear overlay of structure, planning and strategy to the organization

Ezidki in bondage – sex slavery

10/14 A young female Ezidka in conversation with activists organizing Compassion4Kurdistan pleaded, “Bomb the west brothel”, – where she is held as a sex slave.

Activists Compassion4Kurdistan arrived in Iraq to witness the persecution of the Yezidi community by militants of the Islamic State. Met them Ezidka claims she was raped by militants of the dozens of times.

“If you know where we are, please bomb us. For me there is no more life. Anyway, I’m going to kill myself – others have already done the same thing this morning,” – said the woman in a conversation.

“Still a long way from the lunch, and I have been raped 30 times. I can not even go to the toilet. Please bomb us,” – she said.

This conversation took place with human rights defenders  just a couple of days after the UN called Islamist persecution of the Yezidi community ‘genocide’.

Previously, it was made public a special United Nations study on sexual slavery, including minors. The research was based on the words of 13-year-old girl. According to her, held by the Islamists are over 200 women, who can not escape. She also said that before being sold, she was raped several times by different fighters of the Islamic State.

This month, the militants have confessed that they really are engaged in the slave trade. In addition to sex slaves in the slave markets and actively recruited new fighters.

ISIS scum

In Syria, the militants of the Islamic State killed a Russian engineer, Sergei Gorbunov.

Last video of Gorbunov was published in October 2013. “I was treated well, given food, but if after five days I have not exchanged for Khalid Suleiman from Saudi Arabia, then I am going to be killed. I appeal to the President of Syria, Russia, to the Red Cross. I am very afraid,” – said Gorbunov.

Gorbunov, together with the hostages from other countries was held in the city of Raqqa in Syria, the original capital of the “Islamic state.” Gunmen shot dead Gorbunova, filmed his execution. Later footage was shown by terrorists to other hostages to intimidate them.

The military wing also does not sleep, there is a danger that IG will capture Baghdad and penetrate into Turkey. This the most highly funded terrorist organization ever.

WMD. Militants fired shells with chlorine in the residential quarter of the Iraqi city of Hit

In the area of Heath (130 km. West of Baghdad) have been fights between the Iraqi army and militants of the Islamic State (IG). Recently here Islamists seized the military camp and began shelling from their positions directly into the village. On 26/10  militants struck with artillery and according to the commander of the Iraqi Special Forces Colonel Shaaban Al-Obeidi, the Islamists fired seven shells containing chlorine. – WMD

.

One of the main objectives of the Islamic State (IG) is Baghdad, capital prize of Iraq

Another important goal  is Iraqi Kurdistan. The conflict of Arabs and the Kurds did not begin yesterday – consider the Anfal campaign undertaken by the government of Saddam Hussein during the late 1980s and rederred to as a genocide of the Kurdish people, when killed, according to various estimates, from 50 to 150 thousand people. The Kurds now enjoy autonomy and their own government.

.

It is being reported in various western media that in the Islamic State, Kurdish women are afraid of war, that the man, who dies from a woman’s hand, can not go to heaven and enjoy the company of houris. – This is not true. The mindset of Islamists contains strongly distorted stereotypes. Islamists (unfortunately or fortunately depending how you perceive it), despite the radical rhetoric, do not have their heads in the clouds and are vrey pragmatic. They do accept women into the ranks – there are two known female squads; al-Khansaa and Umm al-Rayan – and these they exploit fully. Women do not fight on the front lines, but perform the role of military police, they help to control the civilian population and monitor the implementation of standards and morals of the Sharia. Moreover, women and men respond to the calls of the Islamic State and are subsequently are moved to Syria from Europe.

The use of Propaganda and the Islamic State

Islamist filmmakers have produced the second feature-length film about their activities. The scale and quality of propaganda is at a very high level.

The IG released a propaganda magazine Dabiq. As an epigraph editors took dictum from the notorious terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi:

“The spark came here in Iraq, and the flame will flare up – so if Allah wills us to burn infidels….” et cetera

What is this Dabik? It is a city in Syria, the creators of the magazine mentioned Dabik in reference to the sacred texts as a place associated with Kiyamatom [day of judgment]. A great battle between Muslims and infidels. The topic of ‘the end times’ – one of the key in the ideology and rhetoric of the IG.

Already published along with high quality illustrations are four issues: “The Return of the Caliphate” (the new state is created, the Muslims of all countries – unite), “The Flood” (an analogy with the famous Old Testament story: you’re either with us or you are waiting for imminent death) … et cetera

.

The Islamic State has commanded Muslims to kill “disbelieving” citizens from countries that have formed a coalition against the extremist fighters.
The call came in a 42-minute speech by the Islamic State’s spokesman, Abu Muhammad al Adnani; it was released via social media.
“If you can kill a disbelieving American or European,  especially the spiteful and filthy French, or an Australian, or a Canadian or any other disbeliever – including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and do it,” said Adnani, according to the English-language transcript of the speech, which appeared on Monday at the SITE monitoring website

scum

The Islamic State, winning the district of Sinjar, were faced with the pagan tribe of the Yezidis. Apparently the very existence of the Yezidis is a serious problem for Muslims, “We have to ask about this at the Last Judgment, and Allah has commanded to destroy the infidels. Yezidis are of vile infidel faith: they believe the supreme deity of Iblis! [the fallen evil genie, Shaitan in Islam].

This question is not arbitrary; the answer depends on how to proceed with them. For example, Jews and Christians can take jizya – submit – as payment for the preservation of life, and women’s apostolic religions cannot take them into slavery, in other words they have only one way; to repent or to meet with the sword.

The Yezidis – mushrikeen, so that they, unlike iudeek and Christians, can be sent into slavery. So we distributed some of the women between the fighters of the Islamic State, and another part was sent to the slave markets. Of course, when trading we follow certain rules, for example, do not share a mother with children. In the sacred text it says that one of the signs of the approaching day of God’s judgment – “slave mistress gives birth to itself”, which means that the hour of battle between the Muslims and infidels is closer. “

On the subject of slaver,y it should be noted that there are numerous examples of sacred texts which say that it is wrong.

However, certain Western correspondents recently found at the camp Yezidi refugees parents of girls sent into slavery. The captured girls (some of which are not even thirteen years of age) are kept in a closed house and raped on a daily basis by the militants and locals.

Mission Report UNPO, in Iraq reports that the main centers of the slave trade are Mosul and Racca. The preparation procedure for the sale being; a woman is forced to convert to Islam, examined for virginity (virgins are more expensive) and  priced such that the price is open, ie. to young men from the neighboring villages.

.

Items of varying abomination (Extract from; a report conducted by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry. Geneva):

.
The Islamic State has acquired huge potential by virtue of controlling colossal financial resources that it has seized, it is pursuing an illegal oil trade and has a very considerable arsenal of *modern weaponry (*see below).
In August at least 1,500 people were killed in Iraq, the UN has estimated. A further 1,500 Iraqis sustained injuries while 600,000 people were forced to flee in terror as the Islamic State, which has grabbed large areas of territory since June, pushed into land controlled by Kurdish troops.

.
In areas of Syria under Islamic State control, particularly in the north and northeast of the country, Fridays are regularly solemnized by executions, amputations and lashings in public squares. Smokers have their fingers removed and women are stoned to death if having been seen in male company other than a relative. The dead bodies of those executed, of both sexes, are placed on display for several days, terrorizing the local population. Women have been lashed for not abiding by the IS dress code. In Ar-Raqqah, children as young as 10 and less are being recruited and trained at IS camps. IS has forcibly displaced Kurdish communities in northern Syria. Journalists and other media workers are systematically targeted.
Civilians, including children, have been present at brutal executions, which take the form of beheading or shooting in the head at close range.
In an attempt to to instil terror among the people in areas they control, the Jihadists place dead bodies on public display, often on crucifixes, for up to three days.

.

Former members of the Iraqi security forces surrendered their arms in return for safety back in June, when the Islamic State  captured the Iraqi city of Mosul. They are now suspected of preparing a revolt and are being butchered en masse,
Sunni law enforcement officers who promised the Islamic State they would cut ties with former colleagues were given “repentance badges”, granting them quasi security as they continued their lives as ordinary citizens.
Now the IS leadership has  changed its mind and decided to eliminate potential leaders of an anti-IS revolt in the occupied territories. Former officers are being gunned down in groups and one by one anywhere they are tracked down, be it in a public place or their homes.

Islamic State militants shot and killed Colonel Issa Osman, the battalion commander whose unit was reportedly the last one to give up fighting in Mosul during the June takeover. Osman, who renounced ties to the security forces and officially possessed a “repentance badge”, was paraded through Mosul’s streets before his brutal execution.
Residents of Ana, a town west of Baghdad, reported that on Wednesday IS executioners beheaded former police officer Bahjat Salman in a public square. They had proclaimed him a traitor.
There have also been reports that Islamic State Jihadists raided the homes of 20 former police officers in villages south of Mosul. Several hours later their bullet-ridden bodies were handed over to the local morgue.
Two former army officers have been reportedly executed in the northern city of Beiji. Islamic State militants accused them of carrying out mortar attacks on their positions, residents said.
About 20 former law enforcement and army officers were detained in the town of Shurqat and nobody has heard anything about them since, an official in the Salahuddin provincial council revealed.
.
On Wednesday, IS militants paraded 30 Sunni tribal fighters through the western Iraqi city of Hit, before shooting them dead on a main street. Next day a mass grave of another 48 tribal fighters, mostly from the Al Bu Nimr tribe, was discovered. The extremists had overrun the town earlier in the month.
Human Rights Watch reported a mass murder of prisoners by IS fighters in the Iraqi city of Mosul back in June.
Islamic State militants separated some 1,500 captives along religious and ethnic lines. They then took about 600 Shia, Christian, and Yazidi into the middle of the desert and executed them on the edge of a ravine, torching the bodies afterwards.
About 40 of the prisoners survived the execution, but some of them died later in the desert from their wounds and dehydration.

Islamic State. Acquired weapons

The Islamic State has captured many tanks from the Iraqi army, including the relatively modern Soviet T-72, of which it may have as many as 10.

.
Type 59 Artillery
Also known by the slightly less succinct name “130 mm towed field gun M-46 M1954,” the Type 59 came out of the Soviet Union in the 1950’s. Medium reported in August that the Islamic State was using the artillery against Iraqi troops.

.
FIM-92 Stinger MANPADs
Islamic State fighters acquired a host of American Stinger missiles from ravaged Iraqi basis. The Stinger is lightweight and easy to use, and can be operated from the shoulder of a single soldier, making it a very significant threat.

.
ZU-23-2 “Sergey” Anti-Aircraft Cannon
Medium reported in August that the Islamic State was using these Soviet anti-aircraft mounted guns with brutal effectiveness against Iraq’s dwindling helicopter gunship force.

.
Iraqi Chemical Weapons
Reports in July stated that the Islamic State had seized an old Iraqi chemical weapons facility just north of Baghdad. More recent reports point to the fact that chemical weapons are being used by the IS against Kurdish troops.

.

Chinese HJ-8
Multiple reports have said that ISIS is using the HJ-8 anti-tank missile, a Chinese weapon first built in the early 1980s. While somewhat unwieldy, the weapon ostensibly has a hit probability rate of 90 percent.

.

9K32 Strela-2/SA-7 Grail

Multiple Islamic State propaganda videos have surfaced showing fighters using the SA-7 Strela, a shoulder-mounted surface-to-air missile.

.
American/Iraqi Humvees
Along with tanks and weapons, Islamic State fighters have also picked up a host of American Humvees from raided Iraqi bases. This ability of Humvees to easily negotiate treacherous desert conditions has led to their widespread use in the region. The vehicles are also capable of playing host to multiple weapon emplacements.

.

M198 Howitzer
During July the Islamic State seized 55 American M198 Howitzers from a fleeing Iraqi army. The weapon is capable of firing 155mm shells with a kill radius of 50 meters.

.

ISIS ebola

.

The Spanish government have voiced concern that terrorists of the Islamic State could use the Ebola virus as a biological weapon against the West. A close eye is being kept on online chat rooms, where such attacks are reportedly discussed among Jihadist groups.
Extremists connected to the Islamic State have been considering using Ebola as a weapon against the West, Spain’s State Secretary for Security, Francisco Martinez, stated in an address to the parliament.

Martinez stated that this type of activity serves as further proof that the internet is an “an extension of the battlefield” for the Islamic State, which uses cyberspace for “threatening enemies through propaganda, preparing operations, exchanging information, ideological training, recruiting new members and acquiring finance.”

.

Two British men who joined rebel fighters in Syria have both received sentences of 12 years and eight months for engaging in the conduct and preparation of terrorist acts.

Al Nusra 2

Mohammed Ahmed and Yusuf Sarwar from Birmingham traveled to Syria via Turkey in 2013, under the auspices of a Birmingham University trip.

Both men pleaded guilty to terror charges at Woolwich Crown Court in July.

When sentencing the pair, Judge Michael Topolski said the men were “persistently committed to terrorism.”

They willingly and enthusiastically embarked on a course intending to commit acts of terrorism. The consequences for them are dramatic,” Topolski said.

The court heard that prior to their journey to Syria, the former classmates had bought copies of “Arabic for Dummies” and “The Koran for Dummies” on Amazon.

The two men then reportedly spent eight months with al-Qaida-inspired rebel fighters in Syria before being arrested upon their return to the UK in January by West Midlands Police’s counter-terrorism unit at Heathrow Airport.

.

Women

More British women are flocking to join the Islamic State militia group in Iraq and Syria, with many apparently involved in torturing and even ordering the execution of Yazidi girls captured as sex slaves.

According to a number of social media accounts, Yazidi girls taken by Islamic State fighters are being held by female members of the group, known as Al-Khansaa Brigade, with many subject to daily physical abuse and rape.

In some cases, the girls are sold for as little as £25, according to some media reports.

Al-Khansaa Brigade is known as the all-female wing of the IS. While some have reportedly fought on the frontline with male fighters, the main role of the group is to police behavior and order punishments for those suspected of defying the Islamist militia

.

“On May, 9th year pupils went to Aleppo for examinations. The Jihadists kidnapped all the boys, confined them to a mosque and made them study Sharia Law. Those who did not learn the Koran quickly enough were shocked with electric cables.” – Wife of Bazran Halil, a Kurdish rights activist and journalist

.

There was a man with Down Syndrome, he couldn’t understand the situation, to flee, or to run away from the frontline. When the Islamic State fighters arrived they beheaded him and took photos, shared them on social media and said, ‘we killed an atheist, a Kaffir’.”

.
Bazran alleges the IS militants used chemical weapons. To prove the case, he has provided pictures from a Kobani morgue with bodies reportedly burnt by white phosphorous.

.

“No matter how small the injury, death is almost certain, the victims literally burn to death from the inside out once the chemical enters their blood stream.”
