In ten years, the U.S. Army hopes to achieve a high-tech soldier, 20x superior in strength, survival and deadliness of its counterpart today.

Many technologies already exist and are being finalized; others are still at the draft stage. Future warrior-feats that in a few years will be available to ordinary soldiers are currently only dreamed of.

Developers of the concepts and technologies;  the goal is not only to create a super soldier, but also the promotion of the project on the basis of whole branches of science and technology. Therefore, funding for research is not only from the Pentagon, but also from industry giants.

DuPont, who conduct research on the refraction of light involved in the creation of invisible armor. Simultaneously, the company EIC Laboratories fulfills competing technologies electro-chromic camouflage – fabric that would act like a chameleon, instantly changing color depending on the color of the surrounding countryside.

The Nanotechnology Institute of military technology is working on new materials that would, molecule by molecule, create themselves. And the use of nano-tubes would give them unprecedented strength.

A working prototype of an external skeleton and muscle that can already ‘feel’, the agency for developing this military technology (DARPA) is at UC Berkeley.

The new device movement has specialized legs or fins.

Ninja legs are carbon fiber construction in spring steel frame, which is attached to the native place ‘legs’ » RHex. The new device movement sets moving fins that can bend 120 degrees . When moving on land they do not perform any function, but when released into water the robot moves into play propulsion. In this axis, to which are attached ‘ninja-foot’ begins to perform pendulum rather than a circular motion .

Compared to standard legs » RHex « ninja feet leads to increased energy consumption by 15-20 percent, so to maintain the rotation of the motor at a given frequency . However, they also allow for much greater speed of movement because of its flexibility . In water, electric motors begin to perform the pendulum oscillations with a frequency of 2.5 hertz and an amplitude of 50 degrees.

The disadvantages of the new design is not only increasing power requirement of the robot, but also the complexity of the management systems and software that are responsible for controlling the electric motors. Ninja legs for the future American cockroach robot was developed at McGill University.

RHex is an apparatus with six legs. It weighs about 13 pounds. The robot is equipped with surveillance cameras and associated apparatus and can run on battery power for six hours. The radius of the device is about 600 meters. It is being developed by the U.S. military commissioned specifically for intelligence and covert surveillance in rough terrain . Cost-classified.
